Gainsborough offers a complete manufacturing service to the hospitality industry.

Here, at our factory in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter, we have thousands of tools and dies used in the making of our comprehensive range of serving ware and hotel ware.  Each item that leaves our factory is the result of years of experience in the manufacture of silverware.   All of our pieces are made from the finest materials, assembled, polished and plated by our skilled craftsmen.  All of the joints and seams on our tea and coffee services are hard soldered to ensure strength and durability and all our products have a heavy deposit of silver to make sure it lasts for many years to come.

There are now only a few companies left with the skill and expertise to manufacture silver plated flatware & hollow ware to the standards demanded by top hotels and restaurants worldwide.   We are happy to say that Gainsborough is one of those select few.

One of the benefits of having a complete in-house manufacturing facility is that we can offer a comprehensive repair and restoration service.  Over many years of hard use items become damaged, dented or discoloured but, in the hands of our skilled workforce, they are repaired, repolished and resilvered to look as good as new, at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

A further benefit is the ability to make bespoke or special items. Many of our clients come to us with ideas of their own, or with requests for minor changes or personalisation of our existing silver ware range.  One example of this can be seen on the tables of the Mandarin Oriental restaurant in London, where we created a napkin holder in the shape of a leaf for the Foliage Restaurant.

We have full in house marking, engraving and etching capabilities, which enable us to personalise products with your company name or logo.
